Steven Arnold – Coronation Street - Age 46
Steven Arnold, a retired English actor has been keeping his audiences hooked with his role as a butcher as Ashley Peacock in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.
He has largely chosen to stay away from the arclights since his breakthrough performance. Viewers were surprised to see him on the July 2020 show of This Morning, and the fact that he looked very different from his screen outings. Arnold and his younger brother, Kevin, made appearances in the Granada Television series - Children's Ward. He was also part of the medical information film - Growing Pains. Eileen Derbyshire – Coronation Street – Age 89
Eileen Derbyshire, the retired English actress, is best known for her role as Emily Bishop in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. She has been playing the character for 55 years from January 1961 to January 2016. She is certainly the longest-serving female cast member in a British TV soap opera.
She actually made a return in the cameo in 2019. However, that was just for a short period of time, she has no plans for returning as she is dealing with several familial issues.
As per media reports she recently lost her husband, Thomas W. Holtwhom she met and wed in the ‘60s while she was beginning her career. They share children, the sports journalist, Oliver Holt. Well, with her various problems at home, we are hoping she has been able to add a substantial amount to her bank account to steer her through various troubled times.

Julie Goodyear had a distinctive look that set her apart from her peers. Yes, her beehive hairstyle and leopard-print clad role of Bet Lynch in Coronation Street has made it one of the most iconic characters ever. The success of the role can be vouched from the fact that the character was impersonated by Freddie Mercury in the music video, I Want To Break Free.
The award-winning actress has consistently impressed everyone with her barmaid-turned-landlady Bet Gilroy, on the show Coronation Street. After quitting the show in 1995 she came back on the Coronation Street - After Hours, in 1999.

Georgia May Foote is a popular English actress and model who started acting at the age of 14. Her role as Alison Simmons in the BBC school drama series, Grange Hill, for three years has catapulted her into big-league from 2005 to 2008. Her other role that made Katy Armstrong famous was the ITV soap opera show, Coronation Street, and became part of the show for five years, from 2010 to 2015.

If you’ve heard of Bruce Jones, then chances are that you became a fan after his role as the very outspoken taxi driver, Les Battersby in Coronation Street. He acted in the series for a long time, from 1997 to 2007 to be exact. Alongside the veteran actor Bob Hoskins, he also appeared in the movie Twenty Four Seven and The Full Monty.
Now in his late 60s, the actor is battling tough times. Though he acted in shows like Celebrity Wife Swap and also excelled as a stand-up comedian in the Spanish town of Benidorm, bankruptcy got the better off him and he was forced to live on benefits.

Gillian Taylforth is an English actress. Thelma Barlow has been staying away from the arclights for many years for now. She is an esteemed English television actress and writer, who has impressed one and all with her role as Mavis Wilton in the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street, also as Dolly Bellfield in the sitcom Dinnerladies.
Thelma is not planning to return to screen anytime soon and she has no plans of getting back to acting.
In a recent interview, Barlow revealed that she has been requested to reprise her character several times. She has continued to refuse to take up the offers saying that she does not know how to play the role of Mavis anymore. She last worked in 2016 in the role of Florence Foster Jenkins and is currently enjoying her retirement. Well, we don't know whether she is going to grace our screens soon, we sure hope she returns to the screen though.
Shobna Gulati – Coronation Street – Age 54
Shobna Gulati has been rocking the TV scene right from the ‘90s. And why not she has been part of numerous TV shows, however her most show has been her role as a shop assistant Sunita Alahan. Her success is evident from the fact that she was part of the show for 12 years and she portrayed the character of someone dealing with the trials and tribulations of an arranged marriage.
Gulati said goodbye to show, Cobbles in 2013. She left the show, as it was impacting her daily schedule, including her love life. Like most other daily soap operas it took a toll on her life.
That did not deter her to continue to pursue dating but she remains single till 2021. She is keeping herself busy with various things including showing up at the show Celebrity Best Home Cook.
Lee MacDonald – Grange Hill – Age 52
Lee MacDonald rose to fame with Grange Hill’s Zammo McGuire. He played the role in the BBC drama for six years till he made his way out of the show in 1987. He played the role of a cheeky chap and proved to be a complete charmer.
Lee continued to make a favorable impression with other roles in different shows, such as The Bill and an adaptation of the show, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also pursued his interest in boxing and enhanced his skills in the chosen sport.

Sally Dynevor, a British actress, has played the role of Sally Metcalfe in Coronation Street since 1986. She began her career after completing a training program in Mountview Theatre School in London and continued to train at the Metal Mickey Road Show. She also became a part of the music hall company, touring Canada and the United States of America.
She made her debut at the age of 16 when she became a part of the ITV series, The Practice. She is also known to pursue theatre work at Oldham Coliseum and Fringe Theatre in London. Sally is settled with the Emmerdale scriptwriter, Tim Dynevor, and shares one son and two daughters - Samuel, Harriet, and Phoebe Dynevor, respectively - with him.

Alison King made her debut in 1985 with an episode on Harvey Moon. However, she made a big splash with the show Coronation Street in 2004 with the role of Carla Barlow in over 1,500 episodes.
She even completed a three-year diploma at the North Cheshire Theater school before she was cast in a key role of Lynda Block in Sky One's Dream Team. Before starring in Coronation Street she was part of several shows, including Dream Team, Cold Feet, and Holby City.

Peter Dean has been a fantastic actor. If you don’t believe us, you should watch his performance as Jeff Bateman in the British soap opera, Coronation Street. He later joined the cast of EastEnders as Pete Beale and has done full justice to his credibility.
However, there was some kind of miscommunication between Peter and the makers which led to his departure from the show. He went on to take part in The Real Marigold Hotel, the series on BBC.
Sadly, Peter’s talent hasn’t been utilized properly. We really hope that he will soon get a role that will be perfect for him. We want him to focus more on his health as he has already crossed 80.
John Altman – EastEnders – Age 69
The English actor got recognition as Nick Cotton in EastEnders. He was among the original members of the show’s cast when the episode was aired in the year 1985. Though the character of Nick appeared on and off, he was undoubtedly one of the pivotal characters of the show.
John has played roles in several films: To Die For, The First Great Train Robbery, Memoirs of a Survivor, and Return of the Jedi. He has also appeared in an episode of The Real Marigold Hotel.

From 2011 to 2018, Catherine had already gained worldwide fame after she played the role of Eva Price in Coronation Street. Georgia Taylor, an English actress, played the role of Toyah Battersby in Coronation Street. She has been essaying the role from July 1997 to February 2003, returning to the show from December 2016 onwards.

He was the writer and director of Act of Memory, a short film, and published Jack’s Secret Summer in the year 2020. The sum he has raked in till now will safely keep him away from bankruptcy. It’s needless to say that Jack has really flourished after leaving EastEnders. Good luck to him!

Shirley Cheriton’s association with EastEnders was short-lived. However, she made sure that her portrayal of Debbie Wilkins will be remembered by the viewers for a long time. She left the show in the year 1987 and took up other acting roles.
She was seen in Angels, the British drama from the stable of Julia Smith, the creator of EastEnders, as well as M.I.T: Murder Investigation Team, the thriller series, among others. She played all the roles with perfection and endeared herself to the hearts of the viewers.

Bill Treacher has retired from acting. We will always love him for his performance in EastEnders. Bill played the role of Arthur Fowler in the BBC show. He was a prime member of the cast between 1985 and 1996 and was the first actor to be selected for the show that shows the faith the makers had in him.
Bill has been part of a host of films such as Tale of the Mummy, The Musketeer, George, and the Dragon, Pop Pirates, so on and so forth.

Jack P. Shepherd – Coronation Street – Age 33
Jack Peter Shepherd played the role of David Platt in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, in April 2000. He received the award of the Best Young Actor in 2001 at The Inside Soap Awards and his bad boy turn as the Best Bad Boy at The Inside Soap Awards in 2007.
Jack first came into the limelight in the show Where the Heart Is, and then in a TV mini-series called This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. However, he made the maximum impact with the role of David Platt in Emmerdale. He took the role directly from Thomas Ormson, allowing him to sink his teeth into the role and showcase his real talent.

Jacqueline Jossa – EastEnders – Age 28
Jacqueline Mary Osborne is a popular English actress and a charismatic TV presenter. She rode the wave of success as Lauren Branning in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She then went on to win the nineteenth series of the ITV series, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2019, where she was called the Queen of the Jungle.

Everyone recognizes Jenna Coleman as Jasmine Thomas, the fictional character from the British ITV soap opera - Emmerdale. She made an impression right from the first episode on June 30th, 2005, and her last appearance was on March 26th, 2009.
Although she had acted in the show Emmerdale, just for four years, she received much acclaim for her acting stint. Eden Taylor-Draper – Emmerdale – Age 23
The Dingle family grabbed maximum eyeballs from the soap Emmerdale, and one of the most famous Dingles from the show was Belle Dingle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper. She started essaying the role-taking after Emily Mather, who had played the role earlier. She was just six then, and she continued to impress the audience with her histrionics.

She even won over the hearts of her children fans with the show My Parents Are Aliens and has also played a part in another popular show, Emmerdale.

Sarah Lancashire is not your average soap actress. She has enjoyed a long career because of her role in Coronations Street as Raquel Watts. Her career took to new heights after her performance in the show.
Sarah made such an impact and became a much sought-after actress in the 1990s. However, although she loved the role and was enjoying all the attention in the initial days, the exhausting role caught up with her. She was not enjoying the attention everyone was showering on her.

Tracy Shaw – Coronation Street – Age 47
Tracy Shaw is known for her role as a hairdresser, Maxine Peacock, in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, running for many years. She has played the role from May 1995 to January 2003. Her character, however, finally ended in the show when the serial killer, Richard Hillman played by Brian Capron, killed her.
It's a pity that not many people know about Tracy Shaw's life since she chose to stay away from the spotlight, and preferred motherhood instead. She has still stayed connected to acting though.
Tracy Shaw was part of the show, The Flint Street Nativity in Liverpool, however, she finally bid adieu to her character role of Emily Kirk in 2008. Now that her children are older, she’s back to working at the Theatre Royal Windsor’s production of The Cat and the Canary.
