Steven Arnold – Coronation Street - Age 46

Steven Arnold, a retired English actor has been keeping his audiences hooked with his role as a butcher as Ashley Peacock in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

He has largely chosen to stay away from the arclights since his breakthrough performance. Viewers were surprised to see him on the July 2020 show of This Morning, and the fact that he looked very different from his screen outings. Arnold and his younger brother, Kevin, made appearances in the Granada Television series - Children's Ward. He was also part of the medical information film - Growing Pains. His other shows include Medics, The Bill, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, and Common As Muck. His radio debut was with the show Distance Between The Stars, for BBC Radio 4.

His character in Coronation Street ended with a tram accident and now he is happy with the way his career has shaped up. He was glad that he got to round off his career on a high note!

Eileen Derbyshire – Coronation Street – Age 89

Eileen Derbyshire, the retired English actress, is best known for her role as Emily Bishop in the  ITV soap opera Coronation Street. She has been playing the character for 55 years from January 1961 to January 2016. She is certainly the longest-serving female cast member in a British TV soap opera.

She actually made a return in the cameo in 2019. However, that was just for a short period of time, she has no plans for returning as she is dealing with several familial issues.

As per media reports she recently lost her husband, Thomas W. Holtwhom she met and wed in the ‘60s while she was beginning her career. They share children, the sports journalist, Oliver Holt. Well, with her various problems at home, we are hoping she has been able to add a substantial amount to her bank account to steer her through various troubled times.

Julie Goodyear – Coronation Street – Age 78

Julie Goodyear had a distinctive look that set her apart from her peers. Yes, her beehive hairstyle and leopard-print clad role of Bet Lynch in Coronation Street has made it one of the most iconic characters ever. The success of the role can be vouched from the fact that the character was impersonated by Freddie Mercury in the music video, I Want To Break Free.

The award-winning actress has consistently impressed everyone with her barmaid-turned-landlady Bet Gilroy, on the show Coronation Street. After quitting the show in 1995 she came back on the Coronation Street - After Hours, in 1999.

Her first appearance on the show was in 1966. She reprised her role in the show in 2002 but left it because of the extensive shooting schedule that was impacting her personal life. She sometimes makes appearances in shows, such as Celebrity Big Brother and Celebrity Fit Club.

Georgia May Foote – Coronation Street – Age 30

Georgia May Foote is a popular English actress and model who started acting at the age of 14. Her role as Alison Simmons in the BBC school drama series, Grange Hill, for three years has catapulted her into big-league from 2005 to 2008. Her other role that made Katy Armstrong famous was the ITV soap opera show, Coronation Street, and became part of the show for five years, from 2010 to 2015.

In 2015 she also became a part of the BBC celebrity talent show, Strictly Come Dancing. She left the show to pursue a career in modeling and many more acting opportunities.

She is still taking up different acting opportunities in shows, such as The Outpost which is still airing episodes in 2021. Well, she is just on the cusp of her career and is all set to do great.

Bruce Jones – Coronation Street – Age 68

If you’ve heard of Bruce Jones, then chances are that you became a fan after his role as the very outspoken taxi driver, Les Battersby in Coronation Street. He acted in the series for a long time, from 1997 to 2007 to be exact. Alongside the veteran actor Bob Hoskins, he also appeared in the movie Twenty Four Seven and The Full Monty.

Now in his late 60s, the actor is battling tough times. Though he acted in shows like Celebrity Wife Swap and also excelled as a stand-up comedian in the Spanish town of Benidorm, bankruptcy got the better off him and he was forced to live on benefits.

Thankfully, situations turned in his favor and he picked up few exciting roles like the Dark Ditties Presents stained. Also, he made an appearance in the true-crime documentary on Netflix called The Ripper.

Gillian Taylforth – EastEnders – age 65

Gillian Taylforth is an English actress. She has been impressing her viewers with her impeccable act as Kathy Beale on the BBC soap opera - EastEnders, Jackie Pascoe/Webb on ITV's show - Footballers' Wives, and Sgt. Nikki Wright in ITV's - The Bill. She also starred in ITV's Loose Women, and danced her way into people's hearts in the show - Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.

Gillian's character became so popular that when it got killed off, but the writers were forced to reintroduce her in 2015. Well, that was one of those rare instances when actresses were given a rebirth in the shows because of their popularity.

While she was a part of shows, such as Footballers’ Wives and The Bill, she also played a character in the show, Hollyoaks. She also has a film in the pipeline called Coming Up which is in the post-production stage.

Thelma Barlow – Coronation Street – Age 91

Thelma Barlow has been staying away from the arclights for many years for now. She is an esteemed English television actress and writer, who has impressed one and all with her role as Mavis Wilton in the long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street, also as Dolly Bellfield in the sitcom Dinnerladies.

Thelma is not planning to return to screen anytime soon and she has no plans of getting back to acting.

In a recent interview,  Barlow revealed that she has been requested to reprise her character several times. She has continued to refuse to take up the offers saying that she does not know how to play the role of Mavis anymore. She last worked in 2016 in the role of Florence Foster Jenkins and is currently enjoying her retirement. Well, we don't know whether she is going to grace our screens soon, we sure hope she returns to the screen though.

Shobna Gulati – Coronation Street – Age 54

Shobna Gulati has been rocking the TV scene right from the ‘90s. And why not she has been part of numerous TV shows, however her most show has been her role as a shop assistant Sunita Alahan. Her success is evident from the fact that she was part of the show for 12 years and she portrayed the character of someone dealing with the trials and tribulations of an arranged marriage.

Gulati said goodbye to show, Cobbles in 2013. She left the show, as it was impacting her daily schedule, including her love life. Like most other daily soap operas it took a toll on her life.

That did not deter her to continue to pursue dating but she remains single till 2021. She is keeping herself busy with various things including showing up at the show Celebrity Best Home Cook.

Lee MacDonald – Grange Hill – Age 52

Lee MacDonald rose to fame with Grange Hill’s Zammo McGuire. He played the role in the BBC drama for six years till he made his way out of the show in 1987. He played the role of a cheeky chap and proved to be a complete charmer.

Lee continued to make a favorable impression with other roles in different shows, such as The Bill and an adaptation of the show, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He also pursued his interest in boxing and enhanced his skills in the chosen sport.

However, his dreams of taking up sports as a profession proved to be short-lived after a car accident. His latest onscreen outing was in 2019, where MacDonald had a special appearance on the show, EastEnders on BBC, playing the role of a truck driver.

Sally Dynevor – Coronation Street – Age 57

Sally Dynevor, a British actress, has played the role of Sally Metcalfe in Coronation Street since 1986. She began her career after completing a training program in Mountview Theatre School in London and continued to train at the Metal Mickey Road Show. She also became a part of the music hall company, touring Canada and the United States of America.

She made her debut at the age of 16 when she became a part of the ITV series, The Practice. She is also known to pursue theatre work at Oldham Coliseum and Fringe Theatre in London. Sally is settled with the Emmerdale scriptwriter, Tim Dynevor, and shares one son and two daughters - Samuel, Harriet, and Phoebe Dynevor, respectively - with him.

One good look at her picture here will tell you she almost looks the same since her Coronation Street days. Looks like she has been prioritizing health since her breast cancer diagnosis in 2009.

Tina O’Brien – Coronation Street – Age 37

Tina-O-Brien was just 16 when she wowed the audience with her role in the show Coronation Street as Sarah. She is in her late 30s now and has been able to make her presence felt with her myriad roles.

Tina was in a relationship with her co-star Jason, played by Ryan Thomas, with whom she also shares a child. Tina's other important role was of Bex Fisher in the BBC show, Waterloo Road, from 2010 to 2011.

However, she has broken up with Ryan since then and is currently married to Adam Coffs. She still looks youthful and pretty. A look at the photo here would surely make you believe us. Her smile and beauty continue to bewitch her audience.

Alison King – Coronation Street – Age 48

Alison King made her debut in 1985 with an episode on Harvey Moon. However, she made a big splash with the show Coronation Street in 2004 with the role of Carla Barlow in over 1,500 episodes.

She even completed a three-year diploma at the North Cheshire Theater school before she was cast in a key role of Lynda Block in Sky One's Dream Team. Before starring in Coronation Street she was part of several shows, including Dream Team, Cold Feet, and Holby City.

One interesting fact about her - she was a dental nurse before she caught the acting bug, and made quite an impression as Mrs. Franshaw. Alison is currently engaged to David Stuckey. She is not only known for her acting chops in the show, but also for her pretty face.

Peter Dean – Coronation Street – Age 81

Peter Dean has been a fantastic actor. If you don’t believe us, you should watch his performance as Jeff Bateman in the British soap opera, Coronation Street. He later joined the cast of EastEnders as Pete Beale and has done full justice to his credibility.

However, there was some kind of miscommunication between Peter and the makers which led to his departure from the show. He went on to take part in The Real Marigold Hotel, the series on BBC.

Sadly, Peter’s talent hasn’t been utilized properly. We really hope that he will soon get a role that will be perfect for him. We want him to focus more on his health as he has already crossed 80.

John Altman – EastEnders – Age 69

The English actor got recognition as Nick Cotton in EastEnders. He was among the original members of the show’s cast when the episode was aired in the year 1985. Though the character of Nick appeared on and off, he was undoubtedly one of the pivotal characters of the show.

John has played roles in several films: To Die For, The First Great Train Robbery, Memoirs of a Survivor, and Return of the Jedi.  He has also appeared in an episode of The Real Marigold Hotel.

John has one kid from his marriage to his former wife, Bridget Poodhun. His net worth is estimated to be somewhere in the range of $900,000 to $1.5 million, a good enough sum to lead a comfortable life.

Pam St Clement – EastEnders – Age 78

Pam Ann Clements, aka Pam St Clement, grabbed attention with her portrayal of Pat Evans in EastEnders on BBC. She was an integral part of the show between 1986 and 2012. She also gave a guest appearance on the show in the year 2016 and the viewers loved it.

Pam is, of course, one of the longest-serving members of the EastEnders cast. She has laid her hands on a Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards and we think she deserved it.

Pam doesn’t like to reveal much about her personal life, but we have come to know that she was briefly married to Andrew Gordon, from 1967 to 1976. She is keeping healthy these days and that’s definitely some good news.

Michelle Collins – EastEnders – Age 59

Michelle Collins’ ability as an actress is quite well-known. She was so impressive that both the rival soap operas, EastEnders and Coronation Street, had her as a pivotal cast member. It was not simultaneously though.

Michelle first appeared as Cindy Beale in the soap opera on BBC and then went on to portray the role of Stella Price in the ITV soap opera. She has also starred in Two Thousand Acres of Sky, Sunburn, and Real Women.

Aside from that, she has also had guest appearances on The Chase: Celebrity Special, All-Star Family Fortunes, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Michelle is close to 60. Therefore, she needs to be more particular about the right kind of nutrition to keep her health intact.

Nick Berry – EastEnders – Age 57

Though you wouldn’t see much of Nick Berry in recent times, he was a household name and a much popular actor throughout the 80s, as well as the 90s. He received his breakthrough when he was offered the role of Simon Wicks in the BBC soap opera.

He probably wasn’t a part of the original cast, but he went on board in the show's first year. Nick was associated with EastEnders for around five years. Aside from acting, he has always been inclined towards music.

Barbara Knox – Coronation Street – Age 87

Do you remember Rita Tanner from Coronation Street, the soap opera on ITV? Well, Barbara Knox is the one who portrayed the role perfectly. She was first selected for a cameo appearance.

However, seeing her popularity, the makers decided to turn it into a full-fledged role later on. Barbara continued to portray the character of Rita for almost five decades, and that in itself is a record. She has the distinction of being one of the world’s longest-serving current TV soap opera actresses.

She won the TV Times Award in the Best Actress category, a British Soap Award in the Best On-Screen category, and Lifetime Achievement. At 87, she must take care of her health, which we hope she is doing.

Robert Kazinsky – EastEnders – Age 37

Robert Kazinsky has always been a hard worker. He has built his stature and popularity slowly and steadily over the years. In his early years, Robert appeared as Casper Rose in the drama on Sky One, Dream Team, and Sean Slater in EastEnders, the soap opera on BBC.

Later he starred as Don in the superhero flick, Captain Marvel, and Chuck Hansen in the sci-fi monster flick, Pacific Rim. Aside from these, he has also appeared in the sixth season of True Blood on HBO.

As per the sources, he is filming for his role of Henry in Big America, and that’s quite exciting. We believe this guy can actually double his net worth from what it is at the present moment.

Martine McCutcheon – EastEnders – Age 44

Maisie Smith joined the EastEnders cast when she was just six years old when she played the role of Tiffany Butcher. She had some acting experience before that as she had portrayed the younger Queen Elizabeth I in the historical romance, The Other Boleyn Girl.

Maisie first appeared on EastEnders in the year 2008 before she quit to try a hand in other things. She went on to build a career in music and released Good Thing, a single in the year 2016, and Where My Heart Is in 2017.

Barry Sloane – Hollyoaks – Age 40

Best recognized for being a notable fitness freak, Collard has played multiple, memorable roles. As Liz McDonald, she has done wonders to her role in the long-running soap - Coronation Street. Before that, she had played as Gail and Brian Tilsley’s friend, June Dewhurst in the series.

That’s not all! She’s renowned for her character Flo Henshaw in the British sitcom called Two Pints of Lager and Packet of Chips. In her 60s, she’s still fit and suggests how to be at their best health to many others.

While workouts are quite moderate for her, she’s more inclined towards keeping mentally stable and physically healthy. Catherine Tyldesley – Coronation Street – age 37

From 2011 to 2018, Catherine had already gained worldwide fame after she played the role of Eva Price in Coronation Street. She proved her mettle in performances like the drama series, where she acted as Iris Moss, and also in the sitcom Scarborough where she played Karen Norris. She looks great in her late 30s too, and we believe that’s largely for her personal trainer who has helped her keep in shape.

Like most British soap stars, she had also starred in several reality shows like Strictly Come Dancing. In the show, she was paired with Johannes Radebe, the South African dancer in the 2019 series.

However, their journey was over by the 11^th week. In Emmerdale, Catherine had a brief stint. In the upcoming mini-series, Viewpoint, scheduled for this year, Tyldesley has an important role. Catherine was engaged to Pitfield in 2014 and then gave birth to their son Alfie, the next year.

Charles Lawson – Coronation Street – Age 61

Since he made his debut in 1989, Charles did wonders to the series, Coronation Street, while starring in his role as Jim McDonald. A prolific character indeed, but sadly the spark dulled a bit after 2000. Despite that, he appeared in several shows. At 61, Charles is particular about nutrition facts and that’s something to really admire!

At the time of playing his character in Corrie, he has starred in reputed sitcoms on Comedy Central, like Brotherhood, and even documentaries as Titanic: Birth of a Legend. He juggled with acting on stage too and played in roles like Long Shadows, which received worldwide acclaim.

Unfortunately, his health went downhill after suffering a stroke at the time of the play, while he was in Edinburgh. Thankfully, he recovered shortly, and in 2018, he made a return to Coronation Street.

Charley Webb – Emmerdale – age 33

When Charley started playing Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale, she was only 14. She made her first appearance in 2002 and also earned a British Soap Award nomination for Best Female Dramatic Performance. But before all these, she was a stage actress and stunned the audience with her acting in the play, Bugsy Malone. It was only later that the ITC soap opera occurred.

She’s in her early 30s now and leads a lavish lifestyle, not surprising though, for she’s earned enough over the years. In the British period drama The Royal, Charley had a vital role to play.

Cindy Marshall-Day is an actress who was known for her role in films, such as Dracula: Dead and Loving, Snakes and Ladders, Fiddlers Three, and Alec to the Rescue. However, she is most famous for her three-year stint at the soap opera, Crossroads, playing the role of Tracey Booth.

After her role in Crossroads, she also had a role in the series, The Afternoon Play. She was in LA when she got word from her agent that they were interested in casting her in Crossroads. She was beyond happy, and as luck would have it, she also got the role after a long audition process.

It has been years since she starred in Crossroads, yet she manages to look great. Well, we would certainly like to know her anti-aging secrets which still make her look gorgeous.

Georgia Taylor – Coronation Street – age 41

Georgia Taylor, an English actress, played the role of Toyah Battersby in Coronation Street. She has been essaying the role from July 1997 to February 2003, returning to the show from December 2016 onwards.

Her amazing performance won her the Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards in 2001. She got nominated for the same award in 1999 as well. She is currently playing the role of Toyah Battersby in Coronation Street for the second run.

After working in Coronation Street, she also has been part of shows like Casualty, where the character she played, Ruth Winters, became very popular. She was also part of the show called Law & Order: the UK, where she played the role of Kate Barker. Some of the other roles she played were in the shows including New Street Law, Where the Heart Is, Red Cap, and Lilies.

Helen Flanagan – Coronation Street – Age 30

Helen Joyce is an English actress who has been essaying the role of Rosie Webster in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, from 2000 to 2012. She took up the role again in 2017, before taking a brief maternity break.

Three actors have played the role of Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, but Helen Flanagan made the most impact with her acting prowess. She took up the role from Emma Collinge in 2000 and earned many awards, such as the British Soap Award for Best Villain.

She has also been part of many Corrie spinoffs, and one of the characters of the show was Just Rosie. Jessie Wallace – EastEnders – Age 49

Jessie Wallace became a household name due to her portrayal of a party girl, Kat Slater, in one of the most popular British soaps, EastEnders. Her role helped her lay hands on the National Television Awards as the Most Popular Newcomer category in the year 2001.

He was the writer and director of Act of Memory, a short film, and published Jack’s Secret Summer in the year 2020. The sum he has raked in till now will safely keep him away from bankruptcy. It’s needless to say that Jack has really flourished after leaving EastEnders. Good luck to him!

Ben Hardy – EastEnders – Age 30

Ben Hardy made it big as a Hollywood actor, owing to his portrayal of Archangel in X-Men: Apocalypse. But before that, he established himself as a talented actor with his performance as Peter Beale in BBC’s EastEnders.

Hardy’s film career took flight when he played the role of Roger Taylor in the 2018 biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. He was also seen opposite Ryan Reynolds in 6 Underground on Netflix in 2019, and Pixie in 2020. He will be next seen in The Voyeurs in 2021.

It can be assumed that Hardy has set his eyes on his target and is willing to go that extra mile to become one of the most accomplished actors in the film industry. We hope he is taking care of his health, amidst his busy schedule.

Shirley Cheriton – EastEnders – Age 65

Shirley Cheriton’s association with EastEnders was short-lived. However, she made sure that her portrayal of Debbie Wilkins will be remembered by the viewers for a long time. She left the show in the year 1987 and took up other acting roles.

She was seen in Angels, the British drama from the stable of Julia Smith, the creator of EastEnders, as well as M.I.T: Murder Investigation Team, the thriller series, among others. She played all the roles with perfection and endeared herself to the hearts of the viewers.

Despite being in her sixties, Shirley looks charming and alluring just like she used to be in her younger days. Is there any anti-aging method that she has been availing? We would definitely like to know.

Sam Strike – EastEnders – Age 27

Sam rose to prominence with his role of Johnny Carter in EastEnders on BBC. He is also well-known for his portrayal as Daniel Morgan in M.I. High, the series on CBBC. Bill Treacher – EastEnders – Age 90

Bill Treacher has retired from acting. We will always love him for his performance in EastEnders. Bill played the role of Arthur Fowler in the BBC show. He was a prime member of the cast between 1985 and 1996 and was the first actor to be selected for the show that shows the faith the makers had in him.

Bill has been part of a host of films such as Tale of the Mummy, The Musketeer, George, and the Dragon, Pop Pirates, so on and so forth.

He is married to Katherine Kessey, with whom he shares two kids – Sophie, a production assistant, and Jaime, an actor himself. The savings he accumulated all his life would certainly benefit Bill, especially now that he is no more in the show business.

Anna Friel – Brookside – Age 44

Anna Friel is in her mid-fifties, but she looks even more ravishing than before. What can be the secret behind that amazing glow that her skin exudes? An anti-aging trick maybe? We are not sure. We have loved Anna since the Brookside days.

The soap opera gave her the breakthrough that she needed in her acting career. She portrayed Beth Jordache. After that, she grabbed the role of Charlotte Charles in Pushing Daisies, the fantasy drama on the ABC network.

Anna won a host of awards for her roles including the BAFTA Awards, an Emmy, as well as the Golden Globe. She also acted in Odyssey and The Girlfriend Experience. We will soon get to see her in The Perfect Girlfriend.    

Gemma Atkinson – Hollyoaks – Age 36

Gemma Atkins's role as Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks helped her climb up the rungs of success. Since she was much appreciated for her role in Hollyoaks, she got to star in the spinoff series Hollyoaks: After Hours, Hollyoaks: Let Loose, and Hollyoaks: In the City.

Other television roles that helped her add more to her resume include, Plus One and, Comedy Showcase. In 2009, she also played the role of Ria Crossley, the girlfriend of a drug dealer in the popular show, The Bill. Gemma was part of the show, Boogie Woogie, and has also played the role of Tamzin in the BBC medical drama, Casualty.

Besides acting, Gemma is also a glamorous model. She worked hard to get the perfect body, and her popularity knew no bounds when she went on to feature in three men's magazines in just one month. She is now trying her hand at hosting for the Hits Radio Network.

Gemma Merna – Hollyoaks – Age 37

Gemma Merna is a former English actress and model. However, what got her to the big league was the role of Carmel McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera, Hollyoaks. She played the character from 2006 to 2014.

Her performance in the show also helped her win the Best Comedy Performance in 2007 at the British Soap Awards. In 2008, Gemma followed up her star act in Hollyoaks, All-Star Family Fortunes in a special episode of Hollyoaks v Emmerdale.

Gemma essayed the role of Carmel, nailing the character with a certain dose of naivety and charm. After her character got killed in 2014, she made an impression with other shows, such as The Chase and Virtually Famous. Ioan Gruffudd – Harrow – Age 47

Ioan Gruffudd is a Welsh actor who first caught people's attention with his role as the Fifth Officer Harold Lowe in Titanic. He later became a part of the Hornblower series of television films. Some of the other roles include King Arthur, Fantastic Four and its sequel, Amazing Grace and W, 102 Dalmatians, Black Hawk Down, and The Gathering.

He was most popular for his role as Horatio Hornblower in the Hornblower TV series. Ioan also made a mark with various Welsh soaps, such as Pobol y Cwm (People of the Valley).

It was his role as Reed Richards in the Fireflies in the Garden, with Ryan Reynolds and Julia Roberts, that gave him fresh opportunities. He also made an impact in the film George W. Bush, playing the role of British Prime Minister Tony Blair. He continues to play the lead character in television series called Harrow, which is still running in 2021.

Jack P. Shepherd – Coronation Street – Age 33

Jack Peter Shepherd played the role of David Platt in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, in April 2000. He received the award of the Best Young Actor in 2001 at The Inside Soap Awards and his bad boy turn as the Best Bad Boy at The Inside Soap Awards in 2007.

Jack first came into the limelight in the show Where the Heart Is, and then in a TV mini-series called This Is Personal: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper. However, he made the maximum impact with the role of David Platt in Emmerdale. He took the role directly from Thomas Ormson, allowing him to sink his teeth into the role and showcase his real talent.

With his myriad roles, he continued to win awards galore. The best part is, he was equally comfortable in playing the good boy and the bad boy roles which speaks a lot about his versatility.

Jacqueline Jossa – EastEnders – Age 28

Jacqueline Mary Osborne is a popular English actress and a charismatic TV presenter. She rode the wave of success as Lauren Branning in the BBC soap opera EastEnders. She then went on to win the nineteenth series of the ITV series, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2019, where she was called the Queen of the Jungle.

She took the role of Lauren from Madeline Duggan, who had been playing the character for four years. She continued to play the role from 2010 to 2018, before taking a break for maternity leave.

She even starred in the spinoff internet show that took the name of the character, Lauren’s Diaries. Jacqueline was recently asked whether she was planning to make a comeback on the show EastEnders, and she said it could only happen if the whole Branning family chose to join back.

James Mcavoy – Shameless – age 41

James McAvoy, the Scottish actor, made his acting debut as a teen in The Near Room and continued to make television appearances until 2003 when his film career began. One of his most notable television works includes the thriller film, State of Play and various science fiction miniseries, Children of Dune.

His versatility stems from the fact that he has also performed in several West End productions. No wonder, he went on to receive four nominations for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor. He also has lent his voice for several animated films, such as Gnomeo & Juliet, its sequel Sherlock Gnomes and Arthur Christmas.

Well, to think that James only took up acting because he had developed feelings for a co-star. It certainly made him find his calling. He is all set to star in a film called My Son.

Jenna Coleman – Emmerdale – Age 34

Everyone recognizes Jenna Coleman as Jasmine Thomas, the fictional character from the British ITV soap opera - Emmerdale. She made an impression right from the first episode on June 30th, 2005, and her last appearance was on March 26th, 2009.

Although she had acted in the show Emmerdale, just for four years, she received much acclaim for her acting stint. She even got nominated for several awards, such as the Best Newcomer Award at the British Soap Awards. After wrapping up Emmerdale, she went on to star in another iconic British show called Doctor Who.

She played the role of Clara Oswald for three seasons. She also has been playing the role of Queen Victoria in the critically acclaimed hit period drama series, Victoria. Another of her impressive star act was in the mini-series, The Serpent.

Joanna Lumley – Absolutely Fabulous – age 74

Joanna Lamond Lumley is a woman of many parts and excels in whatever role she plays. She is an English actress, former model, presenter, author, television producer, and activist.

She has won many awards, including the BAFTA TV Awards for her perfect portrayal of the role of Patsy Stone in the BBC sitcom, Absolutely Fabulous. She earned the 2011 Tony Award and went on to win the Best Featured Actress in a Play for Broadway called Revival of La Bête.

The actress continued to prove her mettle in the films, such as The New Avengers, and Sapphire & Steel. Some of her other significant works include The Wolf of Wall Street, and the movie, Absolutely Fabulous. She is in her 70s now and has been part of films, such as Finding Alice, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. She still has a thriving career that will help her make solid investments for a secure future.

Eden Taylor-Draper – Emmerdale – Age 23

The Dingle family grabbed maximum eyeballs from the soap Emmerdale, and one of the most famous Dingles from the show was Belle Dingle, played by Eden Taylor-Draper. She started essaying the role-taking after Emily Mather, who had played the role earlier. She was just six then, and she continued to impress the audience with her histrionics.

She often said in interviews that she did not consider the role as a job, but as an opportunity to meet nice people, speak some dialogues, and go home. It was only when she got older that she began considering it as a career.

Eden also won awards galore for playing the character, such as Spectacular Scene of the Year and Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards. Impressive, we must say! We can't wait to see what she comes up with in terms of performances.

Jennifer Metcalfe – Hollyoaks – Age 37

Jennifer Metcalfe shot to fame with the character of Mercedes McQueen in the show, Hollyoaks. The show and her character became so popular that she made a place in the spinoff show, Hollyoaks Later, between 2008 and 2020. She even won over the hearts of her children fans with the show My Parents Are Aliens and has also played a part in another popular show, Emmerdale.

After a brief hiatus, Metcalfe returned to the show in 2015, confirmed that this is where she belongs and is not leaving in a hurry. Fans of the show believed that the character had died.

She also put on her dancing shoes to impress her fans when she participated in the 2011 edition of the winter show, Dancing On Ice. Although she got eliminated from it, she showcased her skills and proved to everyone that acting was not her only forte.

Jorgie Porter – Hollyoaks – Age 33

 Alison Bettles – Grange Hill – Age 52

The acclaimed English TV actress Alison Bettles is now in her fifties and enjoying time away from the spotlight. However, she has been able to impress us with her long-enduring role, since she has been part of the BBC series from 1982 to 1987, as Fay Lucas in Grange Hill.

She was part of the show right from episode 1 of series 5, and she made her last appearance in episode 24 of series 10. So, what is the gorgeous actress up to now?

Gwyneth, in order to portray a realistic character of a teacher, even trained as one but did not use it to exercise it as practical skill in the classroom.

Bridget said in one of her interviews that she wanted to give her role a modernized connotation. She was just 35-year-old when she took up the part in Grange Hill and followed it up with shows, such as Heartbeat and Holby City.

She has not been resting on her laurels and her TV portrayals, such as the 2014 Casualty show. Her luminous presence in these shows is still appreciated by all her viewers.

Simone Hyams – Grange Hill – Age 49

Simone Hyams became a household name with her role as Calley Donnington in Grange Hill. Although the role was very different from her real self - her character is much into horoscopes and the occasional shoplifting - she is far removed from it in real life.

She played the role from 1985 to 1991 which says a lot about the resounding success of the show and her part in it. Simone continued to wow her audiences with other shows, such as The Bill, Baywatch, and also her role in the film - Dirty Weekend.

June Brown – EastEnders – Age 94

June Brown, the iconic British TV star, impressed everyone with her role as Dot Cotton in EastEnders. She continued to play the role for 35 years straight, winning countless awards for her excellent performance.

June won the Best Actress Award at the Inside Soap Awards and went onto receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards. She became a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2008 Birthday Honours for providing services to drama and charity. In February 2020, June finally left the EastEnders show permanently, when she was 93 years of age.

Some of her other shows include Oliver Twist, and Bean. June was also a part of the 2020 documentary called Soho Is. She has had a tremendous career essaying varied characters, each different from the other, which speaks a lot about her acting talent.  Keira Knightley – The Bill – age 35

Keira Knightley's first well-known shot to fame was with her star turnout in the film, Bend It Like Beckham. However, not many know about her first claim to stardom was her show, The Bill.

She has been popular for her faultless performances in various period dramas which have earned her various prestigious awards and nominations, including Empire Awards, three British Academy Film Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, one Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award. Linda Davidson – EastEnders – Age 56

Nobody can forget Linda Davidson’s distinctive performance in the show, EastEnders, especially the character’s iconic makeup. She has played the role of Mary Smith since 1985, from the very first episode. Although her stint in the show was short-lived and ended in 1988, she managed to make quite an impact with her hard-hitting role.

The Punk Mary character was recognized as Walford's original wild child. Her distinctive stubborn and defensive nature stood out. In fact, her misfortune was mostly because of her irresponsible behavior and her refusal to listen to good advice.

 Lucy Benjamin – EastEnders – Age 50

Lucy Benjamin's role as Lisa Fowler in the show EastEnders won her a lot of praise, the part she played from 1998 to 2020. She played the controversial role of a marriage-wrecker and continued to impress her audience from the very first episode. The character of Lisa made a departure from the screen on October 3rd, 2002, because of the producer Louise Berridge.

Malcolm Hebden made the role of Norris Cole his own from the British soap opera show, Coronation Street. He first made his on-screen appearance in 1994. He also played the role of Carlos, Mavis Riley's, played by Thelma Barlow's Spanish lover.

Norris's role kept making reoccurrences until the character made its way out in April 1997. However, after two years the character had a reprieve in the show on a regular basis. He continued to increase his earnings as he made appearances on the soap until 2017.

His career, spanning 27 years, won him the Best Onscreen Partnership at the British Soap Awards and even won an award for his role as a comic person at the Inside Soap Awards. He had to stop acting after suffering from a heart attack. However, after making a recovery, he made a return as a guest role before finally bidding adieu to his on-screen appearances in 2021.

 Margot Robbie – Neighbours – Age 30

Margot Robbie was a soap opera star first before her hugely successful acting stint in Hollywood. In fact, her first notable appearance was from the Australian show, Neighbours. However, what made her a household name was her breakthrough performance in the film, The Wolf Of Wall Street.

She made her first screen appearance in the show Neighbors during the episode broadcast in 2008 as a guest character, but her tremendous performance made her a regular at the show. Martin Kemp's claim to fame is primarily for two reasons - as a bassist for his 80s new wave band Spandau Ballet which produced a standout song called Gold, and for his role of Steve Owen in the British TV show, EastEnders.

Max Brown has been making waves in the television world of both Britain and the States. His first role of Danny Hartston in Grange Hill earned him much appreciation. He played the role of Kristian Hargreaves from October 2002 to June 2004.

Apart from his success as Max Grangein in the show Grange Hill, his other successful shows include Doctors, Crossroads, Heartbeat, Casualty, Mistresses, Foyle's War, The Tudors, Spooks, Agent Carter, Beauty and the Beast, and The Royals.

His most successful outing as an actor in the world of American television is an 18-episode running show in The CW’s Beauty and the Beast. He has interesting projects in the pipeline including a movie, Valley of Love, slated to release in 2021. Michelle Keegan – Coronation Street – Age 33

Sarah Lancashire is not your average soap actress. She has enjoyed a long career because of her role in Coronations Street as Raquel Watts. Her career took to new heights after her performance in the show.

Sarah made such an impact and became a much sought-after actress in the 1990s. However, although she loved the role and was enjoying all the attention in the initial days, the exhausting role caught up with her. She was not enjoying the attention everyone was showering on her.

Michelle Ryan's stupendous acting performance in the BBC soap opera, EastEnders, has helped her earn appreciation and accolades. She first made an appearance in 2000, playing the role of Zoe Slater.

In 2007, she made a significant appearance in the series - Bionic Woman. Her other acting appearances include the role of evil sorceress as Nimueh, in the 2008 BBC fantasy show, Merlin, and audiences loved her performance as Lady Christina de Souza in the Doctor Who show, Planet of the Dead.

In 2005, Ryan left EastEnders to try her luck at various other projects. Her phenomenal acting talent has helped her saddle both the American and British worlds of television successfully. We are sure she has made great savings for her future with solid investments. She also looks great and is often seen out and about, doing her chores. Tracy Shaw – Coronation Street – Age 47

Tracy Shaw is known for her role as a hairdresser, Maxine Peacock, in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, running for many years. She has played the role from May 1995 to January 2003. Her character, however, finally ended in the show when the serial killer, Richard Hillman played by Brian Capron, killed her.

It's a pity that not many people know about Tracy Shaw's life since she chose to stay away from the spotlight, and preferred motherhood instead. She has still stayed connected to acting though.

Tracy Shaw was part of the show, The Flint Street Nativity in Liverpool, however, she finally bid adieu to her character role of Emily Kirk in 2008. Now that her children are older, she’s back to working at the Theatre Royal Windsor’s production of The Cat and the Canary.
