Julia Roberts — Insured Her Smile
Celebrities are known for their weird ways of spending money on themselves, something us lesser mortals with credit card debts and mortgages can hardly think about. The latest fad seems to be insuring body parts! Yes, afterlife insurance, health insurance, and home insurance, they have body parts insurance. Many celebrities have already jumped on the bandwagon. Kylie Minogue insured her hips, Dolly Parton her chest, and Rihanna her legs. But Julia Roberts is out to beat them all by insuring her smile for $30 million. Well, we are impressed, and that smile definitely says it all!
Victoria Beckham — Trademarked her daughter's name
Did you know that David Beckham’s wife registered their five-year-old daughter’s name with intellectual property authorities last year? That’s quite fascinating for she didn’t want Harper Beckham’s name to feature elsewhere or be used for marketing purposes, hence this trademark. But wait! If you thought that the former Spice Girl went a little too much by going ahead with it, you should know she simply followed suit like the others in the family. Besides, a good mother often does a lot of things for her kids, apart from caring for basic nutrition facts! It’s after all the Beckham family, so there must be some news attached to the members aside from boasting their immense wealth and credit cards.
George Clooney – Sold his tequila company for one billion dollars
Liquor brands launched by celebs are all-time huge business enterprises. George Clooney, the Batman & Robin star, and Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s spouse, had come up with Casamigos, their highly lucrative tequila company, which was sold for a whopping $1 billion in June last year. The fact of the matter is, George and Rande had launched the brand as their passion project, and it all started when they used to collect tequilas to enjoy with their buddies. We are not aware of a tequila’s nutrition facts, but we do know that both Clooney and Gerber have garnered a staggering net worth to go ahead with the best insurance plans for their respective families.
Nicolas Cage — Bought a dinosaur skull
Not too many years ago, Nicolas Cage outbid Leonardo DiCaprio and bought a stolen Mongolian dinosaur skeleton. He paid $276,000 for the skeleton, and it makes us wonder if he wants to make a mini-museum in his house! It was the skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Bataar which he bought it from a Beverly Hills Gallery. But turns out that he returned it to the US authorities so that they can give it back to the Mongolian government. Turns out, Hollywood stars don't only possess big bank accounts but also big hearts. Though the amount of money is nothing for big stars, and it is not like he would run into debts and loans, still his action is commendable. Wonder if he even had insurance for his dinosaur skull?
Oprah Winfrey – Obsessed with Fancy Bath Tubs
The American talk show host and media mogul, famous for The Oprah Winfrey Show, was surrounded by poverty in her childhood. As a kid, Oprah was forced to wash and scrub the dirty tub. She took an oath that one fine day, she will be a proud owner of fancy bathtubs. And she eventually became one. Back home in Colorado, she possesses a bathtub that’s designed for her figure. Oprah loves to spend her free time looking out for the best bathtub in the market that suits her taste. She can definitely afford such luxuries as she doesn’t need to rack her brains on a loan or a mortgage now.
Lady Gaga — Bought a poltergeist detection machine
Celebrities and their obsessions are sometimes very strange. For example, Lady Gaga is afraid of ghosts and not just any ghost. She firmly believes that there is this ghost called Ryan who follows her all the time. Hence, she bought an electromagnetic field meter to spot poltergeists. Guess how much it cost her? $50,000! Well, so much for obsession, don't you wish sometimes, that celebrities would adopt you and pay for all your insurance and loans?
Kesha — Asked teeth from her fans
Singer and pop star Kesha is known for her quirks. In 2014, she went into rehab for her eating disorder. Shortly after, a friend of hers posted on her behalf saying that Kesha was overwhelmed with all the love and support from her fans. However, she needed their teeth in order to make some arts and craft projects a success in her rehab! She received about 1000 human teeth in 2012 after a similar request and made them into a skimpy top, a headdress, earrings, and necklaces. However, this time the rehab won't allow human remains, hence Kesha couldn't make her amazing artwork, apparently! Hope her eating disorder went away when she came back from rehab, or else her health insurance must have gone up for that reason!
Mike Tyson — Bought a gold bathtub and white tigers
Mike Tyson's personality has a wild streak, and no one can deny that. He has always been in the news for some reason or another — controversy can very well be his second name. He was convicted for violating a woman and even went to prison. He also bit off Evander Holyfield's ear and was banned from professional boxing. The fact that he is reckless shows not just in his nature but in everything that he handles including his finances. Being a millionaire is fun, but managing your money can be tough! When most of us struggle with our personal loans and mortgages, Tyson bought not one but three white tigers, each of them costing $70,000. Guess how much he spent on their food? A staggering $200,000 every day! He sold them later, and it was confiscated by the USDA. What's more? Despite having a turbulent relationship with his first wife, Robin Givens, Tyson went on to make a $2 million gold bathtub for her. Nice way of showing love, we say, except there was no real love, and it couldn't even hold their marriage!
Steve Buscemi — Became a firefighter before he became an actor
Actor Steve Buscemi had humble beginnings. After being a Korean war veteran, he worked as a sanitation worker, and his mother was a host at Howard Johnson's. Buscemi always showed a keen interest in acting while in high school. He wanted to go to acting colleges but ended up going to a community college instead, probably because of the huge student loan that would burden him down. However, later, he joined the Lee Strasberg Institute for acting classes. He took the civil service test when he was only 18 and served as a firefighter for four years. In fact, after 9/11, Buscemi returned to his old fire station no. 55 in Manhattan and worked 12-hour shifts along with other firefighters for many days.
Christopher Walken — Worked as a lion tamer
Seventy-five-year-old Christopher Walken is a Hollywood veteran whose acting skills are highly respected both among the film industry as well as the theater. From a young age, he and his other siblings appeared as child actors. When he saw Elvis Presley on cable TV, he was so impressed that he started imitating him. Walken has confessed that at the age of 15, he went off with a circus and became the lion tamer there. He would walk in along with the owner who was the head tamer, and they would wear similar outfits. Once the main show was over, Walken would stay back with an old lioness named Sheba. He went on to become a dedicated actor who, in order to portray a character, ate only rice, banana, and water for weeks without even thinking about the nutrition facts!
Tori Spelling – Spent $40k on a baby shower
You can’t imagine paying a staggering $40k on a baby shower, can you? Tori Spelling can. In fact, it’s not a big deal at all. Candy, her mom, brought on board Mindy Weiss, a well-known planner for celebrity parties, to organize the whole thing. Only 50 people attended the event, and yes, you guessed it right. That stands at an estimated $800 per person. We hope to see the Kiss the Bride star and her mother spend as much on their life insurance and home insurance plans, too. They surely can do so much for the cute baby.
Amy Schumer – Gifted a complete stranger
The American actress and the well-known stand-up comedian had an emergency when she badly needed to use the bathroom at the site of a mattress firm in Chicago while she strolled outside for a jog. What would you do after an employee helps you out in such a situation? A genuine "Thank you!" would’ve been enough, right? For Amy, no. Instead, she expressed her gratitude by buying the employee a mattress worth $2000! Is she keeping a track of all the money she spends via her credit cards? We don’t know and hope that Schumer doesn’t need to be advised on substantial insurance planning.
Matt Damon — Uses hair extensions
Matt Damon expressed his weird love for hair extensions after the role he essayed in The Great Wall, and many were taken by surprise. The actor later confessed about the 700 extensions that went inside the bun and how it took close to 12 hours for recreating the same. We’re not sure if Matt ever had this kind of fantasy to sport a look like this since his college days, but the ‘man bun’ has seriously taken the world by storm now. Even if Matt has spent quite a fortune on this ponytail look, we know he has enough insurance to see him through. Surprise for his wife and kid, for sure!
James Lipton — Worked as a procurer in Paris
James Lipton's intriguing childhood and youth is definitely a lot different than his peers in Hollywood. At the age of only 13, he had been the copy boy at the Chicago Tribune. After finishing college, he joined the Air Force. Later, he went on to become the writer, host, and producer of the Bravo cable TV show, Inside The Actors Studio. But few people know that Lipton worked as a procurer or an agent for female escorts when he was in Paris and even made good money out of it. At least it helped him pay his loans and credit cards bills.
Miranda Lambert – Carries alcohol in a bag
The 30-year-old American songwriter and singer, popular for her albums Kerosene and Platinum, is always in need of a ‘nanny’ bag. If you are wondering why, well, we hear Miranda needs a bag of alcohol (yes, you read it right!) in case of meltdowns and emergencies. Moderate drinking is cool, but we hope this doesn’t go beyond limits and force Miranda to visit a rehab later on and expect her to chalk out a proper health insurance plan for herself.
Kylie Jenner – Made millions through her cosmetic line
Kylie has not even reached the legal age for alcohol consumption, but her mom, Kris Jenner, reveals that Kylie Cosmetics, her enterprise, has raked in a whopping $420 million in the first 18 months of its launching. And if its success is anything to go by, Kylie Cosmetics is well on its way to transforming itself into a billion-dollar enterprise by the end of 2022. And Kylie herself would be turning just 25 by then. Unimaginable! We just hope she keeps a check on her credit cards, and thankfully, she has her mom by her side to take care of her life insurance plans.
Beyonce — Splurged on daughter's apparels
The American singing star has received worldwide acclamation for her music albums like Dangerously in Love, Lemonade, and many others. She and her hubby, Jay-Z, don’t even think twice when it comes to pampering their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. At an NBA All-Star match in February last year, the little one wore a Gucci ensemble worth a jaw-dropping $1,800! And mind it, that wasn’t the first and that, indeed, wasn’t the last. Blue put on a pink Gucci suit to the Grammys, as well. With all the adulation and pampering that Blue Ivy is receiving from her parents, we expect Beyonce and Jay-Z to look out for the best colleges in town when Blue grows up, and we are sure she will have all her insurance plans in place.
Kate Beckinsale – Appears to have undergone cosmetic surgery
Looking their best is an integral part of a celebrity’s day-to-day life. But often, people assume that they have gone under the knife even if some of them have preferred to stay all-natural and maintain their beauty well like Kate Beckinsale. The English star grabbed the limelight by starring in movies like Pearl Harbor, Serendipity, The Aviator, Van Helsing, and many more, and has amassed enough net worth to avail considerable life insurance and home insurance plans. Unfortunately, she has borne the brunt of many a fan who have accused her of going through surgery. In spite of her refuting the accusations and proving herself to be devoid of Botox, Kate hasn’t gained much favor. We believe that her ravishing and youthful features are completely genetic, in reality. What’s your view?
Kim Kardashian West – Made millions in three hours
Have you ever made a million in an hour? No? Well, Kim has. And the figure is simply astounding! The reality television star, well-known for Keeping Up With The Kardashians on E!, put up a beauty line of her own which featured a highlighting kit and cream contouring palettes in June last year. To our shock, Kim raked in a massive $14.4 million after being sold out within just three hours! Shocked? So were we. Well, Kim boasts of a staggering bank balance with which she can take care of her life insurance and home insurance plans smoothly.
Jennifer Lopez – Broke the law and went scot-free
Does being a superstar mean you are above the law? Breaking rules should have the same consequences for everyone or that’s what we know. American singer, dancer, and actress Jennifer Lopez and her partner, Alex Rodriguez, were unharmed and untouched by the parking administration even after committing a huge violation of the parking rules in Beverly Hills in September last year. We suppose getting fined for a meager $515 is nothing when compared to a $480,000 Rolls Royce which they own. And with no mortgage or loan worries, the couple is at complete peace with their life.
Britney Spears – Donated millions to a Cancer Foundation
Britney has ruled the roost with her albums ...Baby One More Time and Oops!... I Did It Again. Her live shows have been a complete sell-out, but an interesting fact is that all the money raised for Britney’s Piece of Me tour is being donated to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. Recently, she has gone ahead with a donation of $1 million to the establishment, and that amount will be utilized to construct the Britney Spears Campus. It will be a facility that will aid cancer and pediatric patients in Nevada. We hope to see her opening a rehab for addicts and expect her to take notice of all the nutrition facts in her diet in between her busy schedule.
Meryl Streep – Received the most number of Oscar nominations ever
The American actress has wowed fans from around the world with her films like The Devil Wears Prada, Julie & Julia, Kramer vs Kramer, and many such classics. Meryl has the distinction of being the only actress in Hollywood to have grabbed the maximum number of Oscar nominations in her acting career — all in all, a mind-blowing 21 times! Crazy! She doesn’t need us to advise her on an insurance plan or to focus on her nutrition facts as Streep is still as gorgeous as ever.
Ryan Gosling – Face printed in foam atop coffee cups
Ryan Gosling had made it big as a child artist in The Mickey Mouse Club on Disney Channel and Are You Afraid of the Dark?. Thanks to the cable television network, he has been a household name since then. The Canadian actor is so incredibly good-looking that even Carrera Coffee, a famous coffee shop, didn’t miss out to print his face in foam. Fans are absolutely going gaga over the concept of having a foamy Ryan Gosling on top of their frothy cups. And we giggle contemplating on who would want to shell out $4 for a cuppa with our faces atop. Well, Ryan is doing great on the career front, and we guess he has chosen the appropriate home insurance and health insurance plan for himself and his lovely family.
Chris Pratt – Broke Down Twitter
No one gives a damn about your break-ups except your friends and family. But, the scenario is a bit different when it comes to celebrities like Chris Pratt and Anna Faris who were once considered as one of Hollywood's power couples. Sometimes, we feel that the world has lost a lot of sleep over their split. After they declared their separation in August last year, fans were heartbroken and seemed to lament the break-up. They even went ahead to make #LoveIsDead a trend on Twitter. It’s true that fans have their own way of expressing their happiness, excitement, joy, anger, grief, and despair. We pray that neither of the two reaches a rehab or neglects their health insurance planning.
Kit Harrington – Appeared as Jon Snow at a Halloween Party
Don’t be surprised if we tell you that Kit took his character of Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, a television series on HBO, too seriously as he dressed up as Snow to attend a Halloween party. Now that’s wonderful, and you surely can take a cue from Kit if you are scratching your head on what to wear this year. But, the fact that we wouldn’t be able to dress up as ourselves on the occasion of Halloween is heart-aching! In that case, Kit is lucky enough, isn’t he? Having amassed an impressive fortune for himself, we guess ‘Jon’ wouldn’t have a mortgage or a loan to repay.
Rob Kardashian — Obsessed with child nursery
We hope celeb couples understand the simple fact that the arrival of babies means escalating costs, and frankly speaking, they aren’t exempted from that just because of their star status. Guess Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna thought that they would get the easy way out when putting the nursery for Dream, their daughter. Asking companies for handouts was a little too much, and we wonder what would happen when the time for health insurance, education, and such would arrive! Companies no doubt turned it down, and the ‘poor’ couple had to resort to Kourtney’s old nursery stuff. Recycling is way better than again taking up a loan for this, right?
Donnie Wahlberg — Paid a lump sum in tips
Good deeds make you feel great, and coming from a celeb, it’s surely news! Donnie did much the same after leaving a generous (read: too much!) amount as a tip for the second time at a waffle house restaurant. Going by his words, it’s a trend that perhaps he has noticed since his school and college days as he said, "My mom waited tables, and my dad tended bars for years!" So after being treated as a special one in the restaurant, he feels it’s his responsibility to act like a true gentleman. You must see the picture featuring him with the employees (he paid $2000 tip for a bill of $82!) And you thought celebs make poor use of their credit cards?
Brad Pitt — Spends thousands of dollars each day to stay sober
First, you spend on getting drugged, and then, all the more to turn sober! That’s Brad Pitt who spends $4500 a day on professionals like an art therapist, chef, dietician, sober coach, and several such specialists. Now perhaps, spending in rehab would have not pinched him so hard, but then, he took the route to effectively improve himself. From a realistic point of view, spending even $4500 on food for a complete year means having $12 per day! Guess too much insurance is already on the plate, so he can afford to spend it here and there.
John Mayer — A True Narcissist
They say life begins at 40, and Mayer ensured he made himself feel special when he turned such last year. So he commissioned IF & Co. Jewelry designer Ben Baller to get a stunning white gold chain pendant having the likes of The Big Lebowski alter ego, The Dude. Now that’s called some real self-love, although we don’t know if he had taken any loan to shower on himself such a gift! As per reports, the pendant looks brilliant with 41 carats of diamond. With two months spent in the making and worth a six-figure value, anybody might think he had to forsake his life insurance policy to deck himself up with this.
Abby Lee Miller — Took out a loan to pay prison consultant fees
Even when behind the bars, celebs enjoy greater privileges than their somewhat ordinary fellow inmates. Let’s talk about Abby Lee Miller, who felt it necessary to hire a prison consultant. And for what? So that she could prepare herself for the 366-day sentence for fraud! It took her two months, and presumably, some loan to get prepared for this. Going by reports, the star had paid an ex-official engaged with law enforcement so as to get some advice about surviving all these odds. It was after all these that she surrendered. Is her health insurance money intact?
Megan Fox — Banned from men's websites on August 4th
By 2009, Megan Fox had become so popular that several online men's websites decided to have a day without Megan Fox. August 4th, 2009 was declared to be "Day With No Megan Fox". Hence, all these websites never mentioned her at all on that day. Says a lot about her popularity actually! The weird thing is despite her onscreen image of someone hot and steamy, she is pretty grounded and shy in real life. She decided to join films in order to avoid going to college. She has eclectic tastes in music and is a video-game fanatic, too. We wonder though how she manages to remain so hot even after marriage and children! Well, we assume she must be taking good care of her food and familiarizing herself with nutrition facts suited for her body.
Jake Gyllenhaal — Learned to drive from Paul Newman
Jake Gyllenhaal stepped into the limelight as a celebrity kid. He belonged to the famous Gyllenhaal family, and his father was the director Stephen Gyllenhaal. Despite being born with a silver spoon, his parents made him work during the summers, and he had to pay for his own credit cards and insurance bills. That is some brilliant parenting by the way. But we are here to talk about Jake's driving lessons today. Guess who taught him to drive? None other than Paul Newman! Incidentally, he was a family friend and volunteered to help Jake learn driving. Lucky Jake!
Sylvester Stallone — Debuted as an adult movie star
Stallone will be forever remembered for his portrayal as Rocky Balboa. However, life was not always so good for him, especially in his early years. He was evicted from his apartment and had no money at all. He spent three weeks at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City where he saw the advertisement for a B-grade adult movie. He was so desperate for money at that time, so he decided to give it a shot. It went on to become the first movie he starred in titled The Party At Kitty And Studs. He got $200 for two days of work, and that should have at least gotten him some food and shelter, but certainly not his loans or bought insurance policies.
Jerry Springer — Became the mayor of Cincinnati
Jerry Springer has had an interesting life so far. Starting from a refugee shelter at a London subway station where he was born, his rise to becoming a lawyer and then the mayor of Cincinnati is phenomenal. It is known that he was born in a Jewish family in Germany. Many of his family members were killed in concentration camps, but his parents managed to emigrate to New York. Despite being in a controversy when he took the services rendered by a massage parlor, Springer was elected as the mayor. Soon, he moved to journalism and launched his own show which became notorious for showing scandals within families.
Elton John — Born as Reginald Kenneth Dwight
It is common for celebrities in the entertainment industry to have a stage name that is more attractive and easier than their real name. Elton John is no exception. This legendary British singer's real name happens to be Reginald Kenneth Dwight. His parents wanted him to have a steady job that pays well, but his restrictive childhood must have brought out the rebellious streak in his character. He chose music over other career options and went to study for five years at the Royal Academy Of Music. His name is actually the mix of two different names. Bluesology was a band formed by him and his friends. Elton Dean and Long John Baldry were the saxophonists and the vocalist respectively, and he mixed up the two names to come up with his Elton John. He even made an affidavit and changed it from his birth name. Despite a great life and career, his life was stained by his addiction issues which we hope has lessened after his rehab visit. Hopefully, he eats properly and keeps a tag on the nutrition facts of his food.
Nick Cannon — Built a candy room for his kids
Of course, like normal people, celebrities try to be good parents. There are celebrities out there who even encourage their kids to get summer jobs and live a life as normal as possible. But then, there are others who would do just about anything to make their kids happy! Nick Cannon is definitely in the latter league. Along with Mariah Carey, he had a beautiful pair of twins. While most kids are entitled to a playroom that would hold all their toys, Cannon went a step further and made them a candy room. A room full of candies - every single kind you can think of! It also has its own cotton candy maker and giant lollipops. Wonder what happened to their teeth; after all, health insurance doesn't cover a lot of dental expenses. But of course, when you are a celeb, that should be the least of your worries. However, Cannon should ponder about the nutrition facts of those candies, too!
George Lucas — Owns A Personal Fire Department
For someone who created an epic saga like Star Wars, it is not weird to have their own fire department, we guess! George Lucas, the maker of the famous trilogy, converted a dairy farm into Skywalker ranch. It is a private movie ranch located in a sparsely populated area. Interestingly, the name of the road is Lucas Valley Road, though George Lucas has nothing to do with it. It is a filmmaker's retreat with all kinds of amenities in place. However, it is not usual for anyone to have a full-fledged fire department on the premises as Lucas has. It is known that it took Lucas several years to build the ranch, and the estimated cost is over $100 million. He has his own fire brigade consisting of fire trucks and firefighters. He must be paying thousands for home insurance and doesn't want a fire to ruin it all! And when you have the money why should you worry, get sick, and increase your health insurance premiums?
Donald Trump — Bought a private jet with gold-plated sinks and seat belts
Celebrities have a thing for private jets. If you have the money, why should you even take the trouble to go to airports and wait for your flight to arrive? The Trumps being the Trumps not just happen to have a private jet, but they also have 24-karat gold-plated sinks and seatbelts. Looks like Donald Trump's love for gold doesn't stop there, he seems to have a gold-plated shower, and his master bedroom is decorated with gold on the walls! As for us, it is best to watch this kind of weird stuff on cable TV and go to bed thinking about how to repay all our loans!
Nicole Kidman – Obsessed with Fancy Jewelry
When was the last time you adorned a super expensive jewelry piece to a program and couldn’t take your mind off of it, let alone do anything freely? Well, the Australian star, famous for her movies like Moulin Rouge! and Far and Away, perhaps found herself in the same situation when she put on her expensive jewels to the Oscars last year. The constant worry of damaging her 119-carat ring designed by Harry Winston prevented her from clapping normally — so much so that Nicole’s clap was even compared to that of a seal! Thank God, we don’t get into these issues while getting decked up. Isn’t Nicole looking way too thinner these days? We hope she is focusing on her health insurance and all the nutrition facts suited for her body.
Tom Cruise — Bought a sonogram machine for Katie during her pregnancy
When we see our favorite Hollywood stars as doting fathers, our heart goes out to them. In fact, becoming a father is a huge plus point as it wins extra brownie points from female fans. Tom Cruise played this card to the T. When then-girlfriend, Katie Holmes, became pregnant back in 2005, Tom Cruise bought a $200,000 sonogram machine so that he could watch his baby whenever he wanted within the privacy of their home. Suri Cruise, their daughter, was born the next year, and no wonder she is the apple of his eyes. Any guesses if the little fashionista will go to colleges and not join Hollywood, or drop out of school and have exorbitant bills from her credit cards? Only time will tell!
Harrison Ford — Worked as a carpenter
Harrison Ford had moved to Los Angeles in order to act in movies for sure, but fate had some other plans for him. He didn't get good roles and ended up doing small bits in movies without any dialogues. So, he started doing carpentry in order to earn more money and support his family. It is said that Ford was working as a carpenter when George Lucas wanted him to read a few lines as he was auditioning for the role of Han Solo. The rest, as the world knows, is history! Thankfully, after that, Ford never had to worry about refinancing a mortgage or reducing the number of his credit cards. He went on to become the second-highest successful box-office star in the USA.
Tom Hanks — Related to Abraham Lincoln and collector of typewriters
Did you know Tom Hanks is related to Abraham Lincoln? It appears that Tom Hanks' great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather John Hanks was also Abraham Lincoln's great-great-grandfather. He actually did a voiceover for a documentary based on Lincoln's life, and it must have intrigued him. Though the relation is quite far off, and it is hard to make a connection, it is true that they are related. Having a connection with the greatest president the country has ever seen is definitely way more than having several credit cards in your pocket or being educated in posh colleges. Tom Hanks also has a strange collection of typewriters. He is like an authority on various typewriters. He has 250 on them, and he makes sure to type on one of them every single day!
Geena Davis — Former archer
Apart from her serious acting chops, Geena Davis has some hidden superpowers, it seems. She has a keen interest in archery, and eventually, it took her to the semifinals of the 2000 Olympics qualifier for the USA where she finished 24th among 300 participants. Even though she didn't qualify to go for the Olympics, it was quite a feat for someone who was only doing archery for two years then. Maybe she should have started when she was still in college. However, she has had a great career, and she doesn't regret any of it for sure! Her financial condition must be so good that her next generations won't have to worry about having debts from credit cards or bankruptcy!
Paris Hilton — Designed a house for her dogs
If you thought you love your pets and do a lot for them, think again! Will you be able to build a $325,000 house for them, though? Paris Hilton, one of the heirs to the wealthy Hilton clan who own the internationally-famed hotel chains, has a dog house. To our shock, it is a real two-story Spanish-style house with its own private lawn. The inside of the house was decorated by interior designer Faye Resnick, and it is all 400 square feet. If you are struggling to pay your home insurance premiums, think about how much Paris Hilton must be paying for her own home and her pet? Would you ever think of getting a loan to build a house for your pet? Probably not!
Kim Basinger — Bought an entire town
Kim Basinger will perhaps go down in history for not just being a stellar model and actress, but also because of her extravagant buying tendencies. In 1988, Basinger bought an entire town called Braselton in Georgia for a whopping $20 million. She had big dreams though. She thought of making this place a tourist attraction, having film studios, and a film festival every year. While the idea was not too bad, the implementation must have been an issue. In five years, Basinger and her partners sold it off for only $1 million and had to declare bankruptcy! We hope she didn't have to put her own home on a mortgage to pay back the loans!
